This is a BRAND NEW OEM Heil/ICP/Tempstar/Comfort Maker/Sears/Arcoaire furnace Inducer Motor / Exhaust Motor . The part # is 1013833 (which is an upgraded version of the Fasco A051 Inducer Motors). The motor has been redsigned- some older models have the motor encased in a black housing but the newer ones have the motor more exposed as seen in the picture! Thanks for looking and good luck!
Function:
An inducer motor is designed to expel the exhaust gas from the furnace. Older inefficient furnaces allowed the flue gas to escape the unit with virtually no resistance. Newer high efficient furnace heat exchangers are so restrictive that the flue gases cannot exit the furnace though “natural draft”. Therefore, the inducer is required to pull the flue gases through the heat exchanger. The inducer motor is usually the first thing that starts up when your furnace calls for heat.
