This is a BRAND NEW GE Emerson 3-Speed Furnace Blower Motor. The Model # is and the Emerson # is 1864. Does it replace your motor? You need to know these things: 1.) Horsepower- This is a 1/3 HP. 2.) Voltage- This motor is 110-120v. 3.) RPM- The RPM is 1075. If your motor is 1000-1150 this will work for you. 4.) You need to measure the distance between two opposite mounting lugs on the back of the motor. It should be 5" or 4 1/2" across. This motor is 5" between the mounting lugs (approx 5 5/8" Diameter) 6.) Shaft Length. This shaft is long enough to fit all residential systems. If your motor falls into these categories this will replace your motor! The motor you are purchasing is brand new. When installing a new motor the motor manufactures highly recommend that you install a new capacitor at the same time. Old capacitors can become weak over time and have a negative effect on the new motor. We have the capacitor that goes with this motor in our store. You can locate it using part # CAP010753O.
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
