Description
This is a BRAND NEW GE ICP/Heil/Tempstar 3-Speed BLOWER MOTOR. The ICP/Heil/Tempstar part # 1171725 (also HC45AE198A). The Ge Part # is 5KCP39PGS083S. It's 3/4 HP 208-230 volt 1075 RPM. The motor is 5 5/8" in diameter (Frame 48Y). The shaft extends 3.5" out of the motor. If the shaft is facing up (as seen in the picture) the rotation is clockwise.
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
