Description
This is a BRAND NEW GE Carrier/Bryant/Payne 4-Speed BLOWER MOTOR. It is rated at 115 volt 1075 RPM. The motor is 5 5/8" in diameter (Frame 48Y). The shaft extends 4" out of the motor. The motor has 4 speed wires 2 capacitor wires 1 common and 1 ground. If the shaft is facing up the motor rotates clockwise! The motor you are purchasing is brand new. When installing a new motor the motor manufactures highly recommend that you install a new capacitor at the same time. Old capacitors can become weak over time and have a negative effect on the new motor. We have the capacitor that goes with this motor in our store. You can locate it using part # CAP011003O.
Function:
An electric motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. In an HVAC system, motors typically turn the air conditioning fan blade and the furnace blower motor. Newer high efficient motors, such as X13 and ECM motors, have "end caps" that control the motor speeds. These can be removed and replaced separately.
